2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The Grand Cherokee is undoubtedly among the most famous off-road SUVs on the market. It was released for the first time back in 1992, but it hasn’t aged a day. In fact, it looks younger and fresher with every new version. The new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is the hybrid version of this off-road classic.

Performance and Driveability

Big cars didn’t used to drink mildly, but this Grand Cherokee is a proud exception. It runs approximately 22km/L, a performance considerably superior to its competitors. Nevertheless, its four-cylinder energy is powerful enough to manage 470 lb-ft of torque and put out 375 hp. The towing capacity is just as impressive and goes above 2,700kg.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe is a hybrid engine. It runs primarily on gas, but it also has an electric battery. All trims come with an electric battery pack that can keep the car moving for 10km more after the gas tank is empty.

These Jeep PHEV SUVs mix some old-school features with top-notch technology. Most models of this kind come with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). However, the Grand Cherokee 4xe kept the traditional gearbox for die-hard fans of the classic models.

Interior Details

The new Grand Cherokee 4xe has a lot of interior space, just like its predecessors. All the materials involved in upholstery and other surfaces are of high-end wooden boards and leather seats, depending on the trim level. Higher trims come with massage seats, although lower levels can also have this upgrade. Those who love to drive with a soundtrack will be spoiled with an Alpine system. The sound system can be upgraded to a MacIntosh Audiophile system.

Tech and Safety Features

This year’s Grand Cherokee won’t disappoint tech lovers. Although the interior design keeps most of the standard Jeep features, the Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with countless tech and safety features surrounding the whole driving experience. It has plenty of driving assists and an 8.4-inch display to control its infotainment system; higher trims come with a 10-inch touchscreen display.

There’s a long list of driving assists, such as automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and stop-and-go traffic controllers. There’s even a system to detect drowsy or drunk drivers and prevent them from turning on the engine.
